Hi all,
I just wanted to make you aware of www.researchmyname.com which by its own admission is based on fictional characters, and on that basis is probably worth a visit for a laugh! I'd also hazard a guess that the piece on family history and the coat of arms, is also entirely fictional!
I'm not entirely sure what the motives behind this site are but there is mention that is a resource for role playing game fictional characters!?
====================
Here's the text from the page:
Recent studies suggest the name Brandrick dates back to the eleventh century. Brandrick was originally from British origins. First historical evidence of the surname dates to the county of Leicestershire in 1401.
Brandrick is currently at number 1864 of the UK's most popular surnames. In the UK alone there are 62630 people with the surname Brandrick. The recently published nineteen eleven census carried out by H.M. Treasury for the United Kingdom and Ireland shows the largest number of Brandrick's in the county of Cambridgeshire. It is noted that a late 19th century Brandrick could out drink a Donkey. Never too far from controversy two brothers Frank Brandrick and Charles Brandrick were sent to jail in 1905 for stealing a bicycle. 115
Traits associated with Brandrick
Warm and friendly is how previous generations of the Brandrick family can be described. The surname is historically linked with Saturn, causing Brandricks to often be complex and energetic. Switching horses in the middle of the stream is another small quirk in the Brandrick personality which makes decisivness, and carrying through a decision particularly difficult for them. Since they often lack the quality of conscientiousness, they fight a losing battle in any efforts they make to be moral.

Once again I must repeat that this text must be assumed fictional. Please don't assume we have a coat of arms or that Frank and Charles (if they ever existed) really did go to prison for stealing a bike! LOL
